Solo Diving Summary
It does not matter how much equipment you take with you, when you dive alone you are solo diving. And solo diving is an activity with higher risks then buddy diving.
This is not just my opinion, but based on evidence from statistics of respected diving safety institutions (see references). We all have opinions, but statistics do not lie.
The development of solo diving courses within the diving industry is a dangerous one. Because history has shown that when new developments, like for example deep air diving courses, start to be profitable, the whole diving industry will follow.
If this happens with solo diving courses then we might end with more accidents and more governmental regulations.
If you do not trust your buddy, it is best to cancel the dive. Sometimes it is difficult to find the right buddy, but it is important to invest time in finding like-minded people to dive with.
It will enhance your fun and your safety. And if "Safety First" is your highest priority, you do not engage in solo diving.
